Sea Pottery Handcrafted Stainless Steel Earrings
These earrings have:
✦ Light pottery piece
✦ Stainless steel wire
✦ Weight per each: 1.75 g
This pair was found like the other pieces on the jewellery. Luckily they were found at the same shore and day, so I could bring them together and make this set.
It's origins are very likely to be from antique ceramic, possibly Victorian tableware.
Angra do Heroísmo, where the pottery piece was found, was an important maritime hub in the Azores, frequented by British ships during the Age of Sail. Ceramics like this may have been imported to the region or lost from ships or households along the coast.
In this piece the most part in the front is showing a well preserved art, color and shape. Indicating it is a fragment of an english antique porcelain plate, or similar.
